Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission was not previously published or submitted to other journals.

  • The author complies with the requirements and ethical standards of the journal.

  • The author complies with the technical requirements of Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

The editorial board of "NaUKMA Research Papers. History and theory of culture" takes into consideration articles in the field of culturology, semiotics, cultural anthropology (see Focus and Scope).

Articles must meet academic criteria, have research novelty, theoretical and practical significance, and certify the author's proper knowledge of the relevant literature on the subject of research.

When submitting an article, the author guarantees that he or she has copyright for the manuscript and gives consent for publishing the text and additional information – the ability to freely read, download, copy, and distribute the content of the article for educational and scientific purposes with indication of authorship, the consent for personal data processing.



The Editorial Board invites you to collaborate and awaits interesting and relevant articles on the subject of the publication. Manuscripts for the next issue are accepted by March 1.

In order to be able to SUBMIT a paper to this journal, authors need to register on the journal's website. Please note: in the "Register as" field, select the option "Author: Able to submit items to the journal".

If you are already registered, simply LOG IN and follow the 5 steps of submitting the paper to this journal.


The approximate volume of the article is up to 40 thousand characters (with spaces). Text format: Times New Roman, 14 point, 1.5 spacing.

The article should contain the following:

  • UDC; 
  • Short Summary (from 500 to 700 characters with spaces) and keywords in Ukrainian;
  • Summary in English (about 1800-200 characters with spaces), title and keywords in English

    (Please Note: Summary is NOT a translation of the annotation. Currently, the Summary is a concise informative translation of your material for an English-speaking scientific audience - a synopsis to a text page where the author does not mention that "the material addresses solutions", but actually formulates these "ways of solution".);

  • Reference list in alphabetic order follows Бібліографія, ДСТУ 8302:2015 standard;
  • References should comply with the Chicago Style: Author-Date (is recommended for the publication in humanitarian and social field), all editions and publications are in Latin (Cyrillic names should be used transliteration).
  • To work with the reference list, you might use bibliographic managers, for example: GrafiatiZoteroMendeleyEndNote, which will help avoid mistakes in the reference list.

References formatting is the same in both styles: inside text references should include the following elements in parentheses: author’s surname and year with spaces, page number.

The text of the publication must be structured to include the following sections (to be italicized):

  • Problem statement
  • State of the research
  • Purpose statement
  • Main body of the article
  • Conclusions

Summary on Authors be attached and it includes the following:

  • author’s ORCID (in accord with
  • academic degree, academic rank, place of employment, and job position; 
  • research interests
  • phone number, E-mail address

Authors verify the correctness of the English-language affiliation by themselves.
